Zinpro IsoFerm contains isoacids (BCVFA), which are essential for fiber-digesting bacteria, as they cannot import isoamino acids (BCAA) through the cell wall and produce these isoamino acids from isoacids. The natural pathway for supplying fiber-digesting bacteria with isoacids is positively correlated with the passage rate (time) and crude protein content (concentration). Both factors are increasingly changing to the detriment of isoacid release. Thus, the supply of essential isoacids to the bacteria in most rations (>90%) is limiting for optimal fiber breakdown. With the addition of IsoFerm, EBM improves on average by 4.3% with a simultaneous reduction in feed intake by 2%, without this performance being achieved from body reserves.
